Hi, I'm Matt! I'm a senior computer science student at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and am originally from New Jersey. After graduation I'm headed to Slack as a software engineer on their Product Security Foundations team. Previously, I did software engineering at Cisco and UnitedHealth Group. Much of my interest and experience is in platform infrastructure, cloud computing, and computer security, but I'm contantly seeking new experiences to grow my skillset.
I'm also have several ongoing personal projects, some of which are listed in the portfolio section.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends, discovering new music on Spotify, running, and hiking. I'm also a self-proclaimed sushi connoisseur.
Since I'm into software, I should say my favorite services are Spotify, Slack, and Trello. I almost can't imagine life without them!
Below are a few of my personal projects. In addition, I also manage and contribute to several open-source projects on my GitHub profile.
FlightSimDB is a web application that enables flight simulation hobbyists to obtain comprehensive airport and navigation data to plan their virtual flights. FlightSimDB consolidates a number of important pieces of information all into one place.
SFPD Dispatch Analytics is a web application created for Capital One's Software Engineering Summit MindSumo Challenge that uses San Francisco Police Department data to help optimize and predict emergency calls via charts and metrics.
Statify is a tool that uses the Spotify Web API to give statistics about a user's musical habits on Spotify. Currently, this includes information about a user's top artists and top tracks.
Unit Converter is an open-source unit conversion package written in Python. I started this project as a collaboration between over a dozen contributors on GitHub for DigitalOcean's Hacktoberfest 2016.
